The picture provided on this page is of my husband and me. The date conveys the number of years we have been married to each other. Yes – that is 43 years. My husband’s name is Ed Nesvig. He is my biggest fan and greatest critic. We have one daughter who provided us with four grandchildren and as a result we currently have four great grandchildren and one on the way to spoil as well.
Ed and I live on a small family compound. Our daughter lives right next door and many of our life’s adventures have been a direct result of her love for animals. Please join us in these family adventures by visiting our authors page, reading our stories and being a part of our amazing world.
What an interesting life I have had. That is not to say it has not been without challenges.
This is not to say life hasn’t afforded us great blessings. Our family has grown, My husband and I have built five homes during our 43 years together, we have enjoyed the love and companionship of more than ten dog rescues and eight cats. In addition, we have raised ducks, geese and chickens. We help our daughter, who lives next door with her hobby farm where she raises goats, dogs, cats, all manner of fowl including the Emus you will read about in some of our animal series.
I began a phased in retirement from my HR consulting business last year so 2023 has afforded me time to be a free-lance news reporter again. Previously with the Manchester Enterprise and most recently the Sun Times News, Dexter, MI. In that capacity I have been privileged to work with a great many outstanding service professionals. Brian Marl pictured above has been the Mayor of Saline, Michigan for eleven years and never fails to disappoint. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell accepted a Congressional District change in 2023 and has kept her promise of always being here for us. In 2023 alone she introduced seventy-one bills and co-led many others. It has been my honor to know and report on them and SO MANY OTHER WONDERFUL PEOPLE living in my surrounding communities. I am thrilled to report local news for everyone to enjoy. I believe local news and local papers are of great importance to our communities.

Our bookkeeper of ten years Laura Chatterton recently relocated to S. Carolina, loves it there and works for us remotely now. Fellow HR Consultant, Connie Curry has worked with us more than fifteen years and attacks with great expertise any work that I give her. Connie was instrumental in helping me create the Life Skills curriculums for the Federal Bureau of Prisons back in 2007. For fifteen years, this work allowed us to serve and honor over five hundred male inmates at the Milan Federal Bureau of Prison during their transition period to home.

Finding the Way Home is my first children’s book. It was written for ages 6-12 and includes a few characteristics not normally found in a children’s book.
The first few pages are dedicated to interesting facts about dinosaurs and emus in general. The intent is for readers to learn enough about these great creatures that they can share additional information the story may not offer or answer any questions that the story does not address.
In 2022, while offering my morning devotions to God, thanking him for all the blessings he has provided to me and my family I asked myself, in addition to serving him, what gift can I give. The question continued to bother me for some time. One day, one of my daughter’s baby emus escaped during feeding time and ran into the woods in back of her animal enclosures.
He was gone for several days despite continuous attempts to find him. When we did, I said to everyone looking, “Someone needs to write about this miracle” and they all looked at me.
I was taken back in time to the story of the Drummer boy and Christs birth. The greatest gift we can give God is ourselves. I could write and so I made God a promise to write Jax’s story right then and the rest is history. This book has become the catalyst for many more stories about Faith, Hope and Kindness. The same characteristics I shared with the inmates at the FBOP. I pray that you find all three in Finding the Way Home and can share these messages with others.
